In 2015, the desire of the inhabitants to keep the old one was coupled with the desire of the municipality to transform and renovate. It was at this moment that the project to renovate and transform the old primary school into a music school was born.
Built in 1956, Altwies Primary School was closed in 1999 because the courses were centralised in Mondorf-les-Bains. Inaugurated in September 2017, the music school now has a large festival hall, classrooms, meeting rooms and drop-off rooms for the various local clubs. Located near the Church of Atlwies, the school's old bell, chapel and siren have all been preserved. The old courtyard has been transformed into a parking lot for teachers. The new courtyard has all the technical facilities for outdoor festivities (water, electricity, etc.).
